Join us on World Oceans Day for a FREE Art meets Science event in Canberra, Brisbane Australia or online!

12:30 AEST time: Join us online for an art/science exhibit and conversation that will showcases three Australians who have shaped the marine science. WOMEESA have repeatedly used portraits to represent global perspective of the real-world, while advocating societal issues like #genderequality We’re now taking them to the National Portrait Gallery Canberra to help celebrate World Oceans Day, June 8! 13:00 Cross LIVE to famous floating laboratory of the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP), the JOIDES Resolution for a public ship-to-shore broadcast and get a first hand look at what discovery and life is like at sea. Registration is required: portrait.gov.au/calendar/ocean

13:30 Join  Dr Derya Gürer at the Queensland University of Technology (hybrid event)  to hear about her recent voyage and recent discoveries at sea. Talk titled: The Tectonic Switch of Long Climate Change: Finding Answers in the Deep Ocean
