Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre World Ocean Day Clean Up

Want to help clean up, fix up, and preserve biodiversity in the coastal wetlands and waterways of Moreton Bay? One of the best ways to help the environment is to take action! For World Environment Day and World Oceans Day we invite you to help clean up Dinah Island. Join the Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre team and Ocean Crusaders to take action for the environment! Participants will be transported to the clean-up site by barge. All equipment supplied.

Dinah Island and Boondall Wetlands Reserve are part of the Moreton Bay Ramsar site, designated as internationally significant under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands established by UNESCO.

Bookings: Essential via Eventbrite. All adults and all children must be booked in as participants.

Cancelling your booking: If you cannot attend, please cancel your booking online via Eventbrite.

Cost: Free

Age: Suitable for adults and children aged strictly 13 years and over. Children aged 13 – 16 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult carer who is also booked in to the event.

Requirements: Safety requirements apply and are a condition of entry. It is a safety requirement that children must be aged 13 years and over, and children aged 13 – 16 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult carer. For comfort and safety, wear a hat and sunglasses that are suitable for windy conditions, secure, sturdy, fully enclosed shoes that can get wet and muddy, sun-smart, quick-dry clothing, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Bring one litre of drinking water in a reusable bottle, energy snacks, and light raincoat. Pack a towel, change of dry warm clothes and footwear to leave in your vehicle. We recommend wearing layers on cold days.

Please note: Safety consent forms will be emailed to participants prior to the event, please ensure each person brings their completed form with them on the day.
