Coastwatching Baltic Sea on World Ocean Day June 8 as a citizen science
9 June @ 12:00 am - 31 August @ 5:00 pm UTC+3

Observation of the shores of the Baltic Sea on World Ocean Day June 8 and all summer 2023. Participatory monitoring as a citizen science.
Coastwatching as a participatory monitoring of nature and biodiversity by scientific experts and local community has been around for many years. This is an international movement and the so-called citizen science.
Monitoring covers wetlands, sea and river banks, lake and spring shores, raising public awareness of their value and demonstrating practical ways to conserve them.
Starting from June 8, on World Ocean Day and throughout the summer of 2023, the Baltic Sea eco-communities will initiate participatory monitoring of the Baltic Sea and associated river banks.
On June 8, from 12:00 to 17:00, on the banks of the Komarovo and Sestroretskiye Dunes, we, together with researchers from the Hydrometeorological University and the Geological Research Institute of St. Petersburg, will try to test this civil science using different methods of observing nature and obtaining results.
World is impossible without Ocean and Peace.
