Keiki aged 7 to 17 are invited to make an educational marine debris pendant necklace with Kauai artist and wildlife conservationist Amanda JS Kaufmann, June 8 from noon to 1 pm at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery in Kukui Grove. Amanda, who is a member of the Kauai Society of Artists, Surfrider, and Kauai’s Monk Seal Response Team, will give a brief lesson about marine debris and then lead workshop participants through the process of making a fun and stylish pendant that can be used to teach others about how plastics behave in water and endanger wildlife. Participants are also invited to view the Washed Up marine debris art show with Amanda and vote for their favorite work of art! Enrollment is limited to 12. Email ajskaufmann@gmail.com to confirm your spot.
