Join Kirkcudbright Bay Bioblitz, Search for a Queen!
A Nature Hunt for Everyone at Doon Bay, Kirkcudbright 10.00am to 3.00pm on Saturday 4th June
While many will be celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee we will be searching for natures queen bees (as well as worker and male bumble bees).
Drop in to join wildlife experts in a challenge to find and identify the many different plants and animals living on the shores of Kirkcudbright Bay as part of World Oceans Day celebrations. From barnacles and seaweeds clinging to the rocks to butterflies and wild flowers in the woodland there is so much to discover.
The event will be suitable for all ages with a series of wildlife spotting activities including moth identification, searching for creatures in the sand and mud, discovering more about seaweeds and sea shells as well as finding out about pebbles on the beach.
For younger members of the family there will be a wildlife spotter sheet and an opportunity to try crafts on the beach.
See you there!
