#ForPlanetOcean is the Instagram creative challenge with the purpose of sparking a creative movement for planet ocean! The concept is simple, there will be 5 ocean-themed prompts throughout June that anyone can respond to, with an artwork or even a story, poem or song. We aim to reach more and more people each year, using art and creativity to raise awareness, inspire and connect.
The ocean is to life on our planet yet globally there is a lack of ocean literacy and we believe that art, story-telling and building community can help to reach new audiences to learn and care about our ocean. Some of the prompts can be interpreted broadly and others highlight specific ocean ecosystems to protect relating to the 30×30 theme of 2023.
This challenge is non-profit with the purpose of educating and celebrating our ocean whilst also uplifting the work of our partnering organization which is Project Seagrass a UK based charity whose mission is to lead societal change to enable the recognition, recovery and resilience of seagrass ecosystems globally; that provide biodiversity, equitable and sustainable livelihoods, and planetary life support.
