No Blue No Green

In celebration of this year’s World Environment Day on June 5th and World Oceans Day on June 8th, Plastic Oceans Australasia (POA) aims to raise awareness about plastic pollution and ocean health and encourage individuals and organisations to take action to protect the oceans.

To mark this occasion, POA has pre-recorded a special message featuring Ricki Hersburgh (POA’s Executive Director), Dr Paul Harvey (author of The Plasticology Project), Nicola Tsiolis (ocean activist and World Ocean Day Youth Advisory Council Alumni) and Dan Abbott (world renowned cinematographer), who will highlight the critical issues and challenges related to plastic pollution and ocean health. The discussion will focus on the state of the planet, and how to move forward to make a positive change, with action takeaways.

The 60-minute recording will be available for organisations and communities to share with their networks, making it an excellent feature during any World Oceans Day and World Environment Day celebration.

We invite organisations to use the recording to raise awareness about the need for urgent action to protect our oceans. The recording can be shared through the United Nations World Oceans Day website as an activity, which will help reach a global audience.

A link to the recording will be emailed to you on 4 June upon registration. Registration to receive the link is open until 30 June 2023.
