We have designed a week-long activity for 11-year-old students to consider how we can save our seas. Teams of four students discuss ocean pollution, sustainability, climate change, and the local coastal environment and mariculture industry to agree upon a problem they wish to address. This may range from harvesting plastics, water sensing and filtering, or energy efficiency for example. They are then assigned to an engineering Ambassador and inspired by a talk from Ocean Generation will learn about the engineering design process to build their prototype. A fun and interactive week also learning about their personal strengths and contributions.
