The battleships that sank/sunk in the Gallipoli Wars 109 years ago lie in the depths of Turkish territorial waters as relics of the war, as entrusts of the countries they belong to, and they constitute marine biodiversity hotspots with the wide variety of organisms that have accumulated on them for 109 years. As TUDAV, on the 8th of June World Ocean Day, a workshop will be organized on these shipwrecks, which need to be protected, promoted and sustainably managed as our cultural heritage, new tourism destinations and also as marine shelters. Experts, scientists and historians will present their studies on the shipwrecks of the Gallipoli Wars. It is thought out to come up with new suggestions regarding their preservation and management, at the end of the workshop.
