TRAQUINAUTA is a nursery and kindergarten that seeks to introduce in early childhood education, practices, and strategies to develop awareness of the need to protect our environment and to fight against climate change.
In partnership with Finland and Hungary and with the European approval of ERASMUS+, we have started a project on sustainability in early childhood education. As a European childhood specialist team, we believe that if we do everything we can to save the environment, these acts and activities, lifestyle and way of thinking, can also reach and affect everyone else in the world.
Therefore, TRAQUINAUTA, located on the edge of the Atlantic, in Carcavelos, will celebrate the Oceans Day with the following activities:
On May 27 we will promote a garbage collection activity on the beach of Carcavelos, from 10am to 12:30pm. The garbage will be weighed and measured and subsequently separated, analyzed, and interpreted at school with the children. Parents and children were invited to participate, but the activity will be open to all who want to participate in it, and we will have a stand at the beach, at the entrance of Carcavelos beach next to Pastorinha, with collection a kit of material to distribute to all potential participants.
June 6, the children will go to Avencas Beach to develop a see activity, at the low tide in order to observe and interpret the characteristic species of the fauna and flora of that beach such as sea urchins, starfish, anemones, among others.
