Celebrate World Oceans Day, by coming to see Racing Extinction Hosted by UNAA WA
About this event
To celebrate World Oceans Day, the Untied Nations Association of Australia (WA) is hosting a screening of the Oscar nominated film Racing Extinction. The film, directed by Louie Psihoyos (The Cove), documents the efforts of scientists, activists and journalists in exposing the two greatest threats to species across the globe. The first, is the international trade of wildlife. Bogus markets are being created at the expense of creatures who have survived on this planet for millions of years. The second, is all around us, hiding in plain sight.
The film highlights the importance of animal and environmental conservation and the important steps we can take as individuals to prevent the sixth mass extinction. The night will be hosted by UNAA WA Ocean Lead and shark biologist; Amanda Elizabeth. Light snacks will be provided and drinks will be available at the bar.
