Water People Exhibition
26 May @ 8:00 am - 29 July @ 5:00 pm ACST

CollaborOCEANS ‘Creatives Collaborating for Ocean Conservation’ have joined with the ‘Water People’ Exhibition from 26 May – 29 July 2023 at Coral Street Art Space Gallery, with Victor Harbor City Council and Country Arts South Australia.
In celebration of the ocean this World Ocean Day 20223 and to raise awareness of the Endangered Australian sea lion, Sydney artists the fabulous Valerie Taylor AM and painter Timothy Johnston join with eight other local Fleurieu and Indigenous artists in this show to coincide with World Ocean Day and to launch the inaugural Winter Whale Fest, and tell the Ramindjeri/Ngarrindjeri story of river and sea.
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Proceeds from some of the artwork sales go towards the Australian Sea Lion Recovery Foundation www.sealionfoundation.com.au. This sea lion is Australia’s only endemic seal species, found only along the south coasts of South and Western Australia. Sadly the sea lion population is in decline, and the Foundation is undertaking critical investigations into how we can help this iconic creature to survive and thrive.
