KWCA is teaming up with Light Art Club, a youth based organisation to create the #wildaboutlife social media campaign. #wildaboutlife is a platform that engages the youth to learn and share experiences with their peers on environment conservation and inspire them to act for a better future.
The campaign seeks to engage the youth to understand more about the environment and its impacts and enable them to act and show strong support for laws and policies that favour the environment.
As part of experiential learning, the youth will join the rest of the world in celebrating World Ocean Day at Malindi Marine National Park and Reserve to participate in the following activities:
- Releasing sea turtling back into the ocean,
- Participate in under water clean-up activities with the Kenya Wildlife Service divers
- Hold a beach clean up activity and hold community dialogue sessions with Beach Management Units on Marine conservation
Youth will create raw social media content in ways that is fun and educative to tell the stories of marine conservation to their peers and create awareness about World Ocean Day as they join the movement to create a healthier ocean and a better future.
