World Ocean Day

June 8th is World Ocean Day and what better time to come together as a community and participate in an island wide clean up both above and below the water. It has been a long time since we organized a clean-up like this and this seems like the perfect opportunity to have one. This event is open to all and we encourage everyone to get involved in cleaning up our island home. With both land and underwater clean ups throughout the day, we are asking for your cooperation in joining us for this event with your staff and customers and asking if you or your business are willing to offer space for the underwater clean up. If you don’t have any space to offer that’s no problem and we still encourage everyone to participate and come together for the land clean up as we already have Baan Koh Tao school involved as well as other local groups. We ask for anyone who wants to join us please let us know by the 31st May so that we can coordinate number of participants, locations and dive site planning for the underwater cleans up as well as boat space available. As a thank you all participants are invited to an evening event with short talks from the organizer and Mares/SSI at Leo Revolution Bar in Chalok where we can all enjoy some well-deserved snacks & beverages after what is sure to be a rewarding day. This clean-up is being organized by WWF Thailand in collaboration with Mares/SSI.
