Join us for our kickoff to the 2021 Beach Clean Initiative, which coincides annually with World Ocean Day, June 8th.
In 2020, our group continued our initiative of collecting 2200lbs of litter and debris through a series of campaigns targeted at beaches around the Greater Vancouver area.
With a combined tally since we first started, we look forward to tipping the scales on the 10,000 pound mark this year. All this cannot be achieved without the gracious dedication of our volunteers, however. Your efforts truly make a difference, not only in shaping the overall health of the marine coastlines, but also in maintaining the balance of the marine biodiversity, including fish, birds and plant life.
Meet at 12pm on the West side of Highway 99 (Sea to Sky) for a briefing. You can park your car on the dirt pull out at that spot. Bring comfortable clothing, hat, gloves, sunscreen, and protective footwear, preferably hiking boots. Litter grabbers can be purchased at the Dollar Store and makes the process a lot easier. Garbage bags will be provided.
