The fish flag concept is one of Climate Creatives, the company that I am collaborating with to plan this event. They focus on community collaboration and sustainable engagement and we hope to bring this to Boston University this World Ocean Day. The event itself will include workshop and installation sections. During the workshop, students, faculty, and any participants can come in and make their own fish flag! The fish flags will have a year on them, indicating where the sea level will be, at that point in time. Additionally, people can write their sustainable goals for their futures or personal sustainable achievements in order to inspire others. The fish flags will then be assembled and installed at the BU GSU Lawn with informational signage leading to resources and links to make a difference. The installation is in a very public place, so people who see the art will be forced to learn more about the purpose of it and hopefully be inspired to take action.
