Every year, for World Oceans Day, Te mana o te moana organizes a major event. This year, an award ceremony for the HEI HONU contest will be organized.
As part of this project, Moorea’s and Tahiti’s schools have been invited to create work-of-arts on the thematic of pollution. Two categories are represented: artworks made out of 100% natural materials like “land-art” and artworks made out of collected polluting materials.
During World Oceans Day 2021, winning classes will come to our facilities to visit the Sea turtle care center and will participate to different activities.
At the same time, some team members will be in Tahiti to lead education workshops aboard the Aremiti Ferry (June 8th) and in Paofai’s Gardens in Papeete (June 12th).
For the lunch, at the cafeteria for the staff, some short movies will be screened in order to raise awareness of pollution in the ocean and climate changes.
On this event we will propose to volunteers (staff and guest) to clean up the south pontoon lagoon of our resort.
In this event we will show how making corals taking cuttings to our staff.
The purpose of this event is to make a sensibilisation of the importance of the good health of our lagoon and corals to preserve it
