This year on World Oceans Day, Habilin and Reef Check Philippines have launched ALON: A children’s diving manual!
Alon tells the story of a young boy and his newfound passion for the ocean upon learning how to dive. The storybook-style booklet acts as a guide to teach children the basic information, instructions, and importance of diving, while aiming to encourage the youth to take action in preserving our natural world.
Currently accepting pre-orders, for every purchase from Alon’s donation packages, you will be putting one copy of this book in the hands of a young future diver from coastal communities in Batangas!
Thus far into our pre-orders period, we have been able to sell close to 100 copies of Alon, with half of these to be donated to the children in our coastal communities!
Along with this, we have also been able to gather several donations for our scuba scholars, which will help fund Reef Check Philippines’ diving programs for children! This will give several kids in our partner community to explore our oceans and see how they can help preserve our environment firsthand.
Through this project, we hope to empower young children to seek out a passion for diving, as well as for our oceans and marine life.
