Arpa (she/her) is a high school student from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She always had a deep admiration for the environment and nature. From a very young age, she used to admire nature and the natural beauty around her. But this admiration turned into passion when she first got to know deeply about the reality of the environment around her while studying for the National Earth Olympiad and participating in the Green Day Training there. For three years she participated in the national Earth Olympiad and even made it to the camp through which she developed a wide range of knowledge and skills in the field of earth science. Through this, she gained leadership and communication skills which paved the way for her aim to make a difference in the lives of people around her with her knowledge and skills.

Starting with being the Vice president of her school’s earth club she organized events and fests to promote climate and sustainability awareness on the campus. Being an Earth science mentor and academic coordinator in the Deviation Scientific Society she conducted Project Breathe through which she helped 50+ students interested in the field of earth science, climate, and sustainability she even took free classes for them. That being said, her passion for environmental issues extends beyond my campus. As a volunteer and content writer at Project WE, she creates content focused on environmental sustainability to help build public awareness. She has participated in over four environmental campaigns and events, including coastal tree planting, as well as projects aimed at addressing issues like lead and arsenic contamination. Through this work, she raised awareness among coastal communities, particularly on the importance of ocean conservation. And then last year, she served as a Younga Climate Science Awareness Youth Delegate, where she worked with delegates from 25 different countries in which climate change, its future impact, and ways to raise awareness about these pressing issues were discussed. Through this, she took her communication and earth science skills to an international level.

She hopes to solve the major environmental issues strategically and sustainably by setting up a company one day that will specialize in environment modeling, risk assessment, and sustainable strategy development so that poor or common people don’t have to suffer from huge climate disasters.
