Día Mundial de los Oceanos CIMAS

En esta oportunidad habrá stands donde se exhibirán distintas actividades científicas, productivas y tecnológicas vinculadas con el mar. En el aula del CIMAS se mostrarán las etapas del trabajo del personal científico y técnico de la institución que incluyen mediciones de parámetros ambientales (nutrientes, análisis de sedimento); cuantificación de fitoplancton y monitoreo de marea roja; prospecciones de fauna bentónica, adecuación y desarrollo de tecnologías de maricultura; evaluaciones de stock pesquero; programa de observadores a bordo; uso sustentable de servicios ecosistémicos (arrecifes artificiales, avistaje de fauna marina), entre otras.

El recorrido por las distintas etapas se hará de la mano de guías que acompañarán a los visitantes para juntos responder “¿qué conocemos (y cómo lo sabemos) sobre el estado del océano?”. Luego se realizará un cierre con la interpretación de los resultados de las investigaciones más recientes con visitas guiadas cada 30 minutos desde la puerta del CIMAS.

Además, sobre la calle Güemes se colocará una globa con diferentes stands de grupos de investigación del CIMAS, así como de otras instituciones y organizaciones que trabajan todos los días por los océanos. También habrá servicio de buffet a beneficio de Vuela el Pez.

For this event, there will be stands where different scientific and technological activities related to the sea will be displayed. In the CIMAS classroom, the stages of the work of the scientific and technical staff of the institution will be shown, which include measurements of environmental parameters (nutrients, sediment analysis); phytoplankton quantification and red tide monitoring; surveys of benthic fauna, adaptation and development of mariculture technologies; fish stock assessments; on-board observer program; sustainable use of ecosystem services (artificial reefs, marine fauna watching), and others.

The tour through the different stages will be carried out by guides who will accompany the visitors to answer the question of “What do we know (and how do we know) about the state of the ocean?” Then, there will be a closing with the interpretation of the results of the most recent investigations with guided tours every 30 minutes from the CIMAS door.

In addition, a globe will be placed on Güemes street with different stands of CIMAS research groups, as well as other institutions and organizations that work every day for the oceans. There will also be a buffet service for the benefit of Vuela el Pez.
