Kiwi Waka Ama Singapore is an outraging paddling club in Singapore. Our connection as a whanau (family) is deeply connected to the Maori people of New Zealand’s migration over the ocean in waka (canoes) from Hawaiiki. Our kaupapa (core purpose) is to come together both on the land and the ocean to learn the skills of our ancestors on the seas so the wisdom and values of our culture continues to be fostered and can be shared with people from all cultures living in Singapore. We use our Whanau Day as a celebration of what the ocean means to us and we start the event with an ocean beach clean up.
