Students at Recess Outdoor Adventure School are hosting a beach cleanup on Saturday, June 4 from 10-11 am. The event will take place at the Nye Beach Turnaround in Newport, Oregon. Recess staff will be handing out reusable bags and other fun prizes to the first 100 participants. The NOAA Ocean Guardian School program has sponsored the event, providing education materials and funding for prizes. The students are excited to help their community choose reusable items over single use plastics.
Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite beach cleanup tools like buckets, grabbers, and sifters.
