On June 8, 2022 from 10 am to 4 pm, the Lehigh Valley Zoo along with countless other zoos and aquariums around the world will be celebrating World Ocean Day! Because protecting our ocean is a community effort, we have invited local organizations to help celebrate with us and to help educate our guests about the positive impacts they have on our environment. Some of the participating organizations include the Bethlehem Food Co-op, the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards, the Wildlands Conservancy, and the Niagara Bottling Company. The zoo will be having various interactive and educational stations set up around the zoo to teach about our oceans and ways we can help protect them. These include pollution, recycling, and habitat games as well as opportunities to learn about the zoo’s Know Plastics campaign and the 30×30 World Ocean Day movement to protect 30% of our ocean by 2030.
