8 June @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am JST

Event Series Event Series (See All)
Free

This series of events will look at the importance of marine conservation from the perspective of ecosystem conservation and chemical pollution today, as taught by Rachel Carson, who in human history drew people’s attention to environmental issues themselves and created the environmental protection movement. In particular, the event will include a 60-minute discussion using the “Kankyo Cafe” method of interactive social dialogue, with researchers from the National Institute for Environmental Studies in Japan, while referring to three of her works on the ocean, “The Sea Around Us”, “Tide Under the Wind”, and “Sea Shore”, as well as her final work, “The Sense of Wonder”. This event is being held as an event related to Wetskill Osaka 2025, which is organized by the Wetskill Foundation, and will develop an action plan for how citizens and youth can promote collaboration across all sectors, ages, and countries in the Asia-Pacific region for ambitious and specific environmental conservation, including marine conservation and ecosystem conservation.
