Strong Marine Protected Areas for Our Blue Planet: World Ocean Day Diving Action

About This Event

Derinlere Saygı Dalışı Topluluğu is organizing an open call within its Türkiye-based diving community and international network to take action for World Ocean Day 2026 under the theme “Strong Marine Protected Areas for Our Blue Planet.”

Between 5–8 June 2026, divers, diving clubs, marine advocates, and members of our wider blue community are encouraged to dedicate their dives to World Ocean Day by conducting underwater clean-up activities where safely possible, opening awareness banners dedicated to the day, and documenting their activities through photos and videos.

Announcements have been shared across the Derinlere Saygı Dalışı Topluluğu network, which includes participants from Türkiye as well as members from other countries. Through this open call, we aim to bring together divers and ocean advocates around a shared message: protecting the oceans, supporting biodiversity, reducing plastic pollution, keeping our seas clean, and advocating for stronger marine protected areas.

This action is intended to strengthen community engagement and visibility for World Ocean Day by encouraging participants to act locally while contributing to a broader global movement for a healthier ocean and a better-protected blue planet.
