Directed by Harrison Yap and Aziz Idris, and narrated by Paula Malai Ali, The Invisible Catch (2026) is a 30-min documentary short exploring an issue that often goes unnoticed: illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

The screening will also be followed by a dialogue session, where audience members can reflect on the documentary, ask questions, and take part in a meaningful conversation about our oceans, fisheries, and our shared responsibility in protecting them. This dialogue will include:
Harrison Yap from New Wave Films — Brunei filmmaker and business lead of New Wave Films, telling meaningful stories with a fresh creative voice and inspiring others in their creative journeys.
Aziz Idris from Poni Studios — Multimedia journalist with over 15 years of media experience, now bringing his newsroom storytelling eye into filmmaking as a first-time co-director.
Sui Tzyy Wei from Global Awareness and Impact Alliance (GAIA) — Senior Research Associate at GAIA focusing on Southeast Asian maritime security, IUU fishing, and the link between domestic politics and regional security.
Terence Lim from Stop Fish Bombing Malaysia — Executive Director of Stop Fish Bombing Malaysia, using acoustic detection, enforcement support, and community engagement to tackle IUU fishing and blast fishing in Sabah.
