It has been a tough year for securing funding, with budget cuts for ocean and climate action happening at a scale that we’ve never seen before.
We are a small but mighty team – collaborative by design, co-led with a growing global network of youth leaders, and working with our network of 2,000 organizations in nearly 200 countries to protect our one world ocean.
Your support helps us globally coordinate World Ocean Day in June and grow the global movement for ocean-climate action year-round.
We keep expenses low — with minimal staffing and almost no administrative costs — so your donation goes where it matters most: empowering young people to protect our ocean and climate. Our programs empower young people to become leaders and strong advocates, who collaborate in transformative ways for a healthy ocean and a better future.
- In the past three years, we’ve trained 5,000+ youth from 160+ countries to advance ocean-climate action. Over 2,000 young leaders gained practical advocacy skills this year through our free, virtual Youth Leadership Training Program.
- As the global coordinator of World Ocean Day – which we launched in 2002 and is now officially recognized by the UN – we unite the world every June to take action for our shared ocean. Co-developed with our Youth Advisory Council, last year’s events and campaigns reached nearly 200 countries, engaging millions in person and billions online.
- For nearly 30 years, we’ve worked behind the scenes to grow and diversify the global movement for a healthy ocean and a stable climate. Our growing global network includes 2,000+ organizations in nearly all countries worldwide, inspiring evidence-based action for a healthy ocean and stable climate.
We may be a lean organization, but with our network of youth leaders and partnersworldwide, we’re creating big change. Together, we’re working to protect marine life, stop plastic pollution, and ensure a healthy, abundant ocean for generations to come.
