Blue Careers: Supporting 30×30 Through Your Career

25 May, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm BST

A “blue career” is a career that contributes to the sustainable use and conservation of the marine environment.

Recently, world leaders made a global commitment to protect 30% of our blue planet by 2030 (30×30).
To create a healthy ocean with abundant wildlife and to stabilise the climate, it’s critical that 30% of our planet’s lands, waters, and ocean are protected.

Come along to this webinar to hear from professionals why they chose a “blue career” and learn about the many exciting career paths you can take to support 30×30. Speakers will share advice on pursuing a blue career, and there will be opportunities for questions and discussion.

Speakers:

  • Michele Legernes: Marine Biology Advisor for Bellona | CEO and Vice Chair of the Board at Marea
  • Fiona Middleton: Research and Community for Art and the Ocean | PhD candidate in Ocean Literacy
  • Caitlin Turner: Policy Officer with SIFT
