In celebration of World Ocean Day 2025 on June 8, 2025, the Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ), through the External Affairs and Institutional Development Centre (EAIDC) and the Safety, Health, and Environment Department (SHED), in collaboration with the Philippine Coast Guard – Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement and Response Group Southwestern Mindanao (MEPERG SWM), will conduct the Crown of Thorns Clearing Operation along with coastal and underwater cleanup on June 7, 2025, at Once Islas, Panubigan, Zamboanga City. The activity has been moved to an earlier date in order to respectfully observe Eid al-Adha on June 8, 2025.
