Beach Walk & Run & Biking for Sustainable Fisheries and Strengthening of Marine Protected Areas in Thailand

About This Event

The Alumni Society of International Ocean Institute (IOI) – Thailand will co-organize an event entitled “Beach Walk & Run & Biking for Sustainable Fisheries and Strengthening of Marine Protected Areas in Thailand” to celebrate World Ocean Day 2026 in Songkhla on Sunday, 7 June 2026, as well as the 26th Anniversary of IOI Thailand.

The event will be organized in collaboration with The Songkhla Province; The Second Area Command, Royal Thai Navy; The Songkhla Municipality; The Association of the Faculty of Fisheries Alumni of Kasetsart University; The Sustainable Fisheries Research and Development Institute (SFRD); Department of Fisheries (DOF); Department of Marine and Coastal Resources; and other local organizations and partners.

Activities will include opening remarks by the organizers, co-organizers, and partners; the release of aquatic animals; 5-km beach walk & run, and 10-km biking along the coast.

It is expected that the event will be joined by 300 participants from various organizations and local communities for the celebration. This event will provide a valuable opportunity to raise public awareness of sustainable fisheries, marine protected areas, and marine environmental conservation.
