Belize-led World Ocean Day Initiative in Republic of China (Taiwan)

About This Event

Belize-led World Ocean Day Initiative in the Republic of China (Taiwan) is a community ocean action event organized by Naydeline Smith, World Ocean Day Youth Advisory Council member for Belize, with support from the Embassy of Belize in Republic of China (Taiwan).

The event will bring together Belizeans in Republic of China (Taiwan) for a beach cleanup and microplastics classification activity in the Tamsui/Shalun area of New Taipei City. Participants will help clean a coastal site, raise awareness about plastic pollution, and use a shared toolkit to classify microplastics collected during the activity.

This initiative highlights Belizean leadership in ocean protection while strengthening community engagement abroad. After the cleanup and classification activity, participants will join a Belizean community lunch with rice and beans. Participants will also receive a World Ocean Day T-shirt designed for this Belize-led initiative.
