About This Event
Bimochan is a researcher, innovator, and social entrepreneur from Nepal, internationally recognized for designing solutions that integrate sustainability, cultural preservation, and social impact. Growing up in Nepal, he witnessed how fragile mountain ecosystems sustain millions of lives, inspiring him to develop projects that connect science, community, and culture.
As a social entrepreneur, Bimochan has received a grant from the European Union and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) for his leadership in creating scalable and community-driven solutions. Through these platforms, he leads ‘The Invisible Artisans’, a project reviving traditional metal crafts by providing business training and giving market access to Nepal’s Dalit Blacksmith communities to uplift the economy while creating sustainable livelihoods. He also founded Lakshya Nepal, a youth-driven nonprofit engaging students through educational programs on social entrepreneurship, climate literacy, circular economy, and innovation. Recently, he became one of the finalists in the 2025 Social Entrepreneurs in Tourism (SET) Competition for his venture ‘Legends in the Landscape’, which offers gamified cultural tourism initiative that preserves heritage and generates economic opportunities in rural Nepal. Additionally through the Bow Seat: Creative Action for Conservation’s True Blue Fellowship, he launched Paribartan Ko Lagi Kala (Art for Change), mobilizing artisans and youth to address plastic pollution through creative action and public engagement.
As a researcher and innovator, Bimochan develops solutions that merge science with real-world impact. He is currently researching fly-ash geopolymer bricks as a sustainable alternative to traditional fired bricks, and also with the Uunchai,a national program, researching Nepal’s bottled water economy to address hygiene, economic, and public health gaps in Nepal. At Tuki Nova Labs, he conducts projects that benefit the community through the power of social entrepreneurship. He also encourages other youths to start their ventures and projects through this. Additionally, as a Research Scholar at the New York Academy of Sciences, he has designed research papers and innovative solutions for sustainability and urban-environmental challenges.
He endeavours to promote the voice of Himalayas in the global ocean advocacy area through research and innovation as a member of the World Ocean Day Youth Advisory Council, thereby encouraging solutions that bridge mountains, rivers, and seas.
