Hawaii Environmental Film Festival – OUR OCEAN

About This Event

We live on an island in the center of the Pacific Ocean. At this film festival we’re focusing on our oceans- our collective inheritance and our biggest line of defense against climate destabilization.

Join us as we are guided through the world beside our world: the ocean and all its inhabitants. Through this night’s film we’ll learn part of the story behind Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, one of the largest marine conservation areas in the world. You’ll not just learn but connect to something much bigger than any individual self. Featuring: Ocean with David Attenborough.

MOANANUIĀKEA: ONE OCEAN. ONE PEOPLE. ONE CANOE
Moananuiākea means “great expansive ocean” and is a contemporary native Hawaiian term of reference for this oceanic space. This documentary celebrates the historic Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage of the Hōkūle’a that connected countless individuals and communities from sailing around the globe.
