Dive into creativity this World Ocean Day with a hands-on poster making workshop with the SciComm team!

This event invites ocean lovers of all skill levels to express what they cherish most about our beautiful oceans whether it’s kelp forests, penguins, waves, deep sea mysteries or the coastline you call home. During the workshop, participants will have access to art materials and guidance as they design and create their own ocean themed posters.
Once completed, all posters will be officially submitted to the World Ocean Day Poster Competition. But the creativity doesn’t end there. Every submitted poster will be proudly displayed as part of the Art x Science Exhibition held in Hobart in August, 2026. This is a chance not only to showcase your artwork to the public but also to contribute to a broader conversation about the importance of healthy oceans.

Whether you’re an artist, a scientist, a student or simply someone who loves the sea, this workshop offers a relaxed and inspiring space to create, connect and celebrate the ocean that sustains us all.
