Ocean Week Halifax

About This Event

Ocean Week Halifax is a city-wide festival celebrating our deep connection to the Atlantic. As the official regional hub for the national “Ocean Week Canada” movement, it brings together scientists, students, artists, divers, educators, and ocean lovers to promote ocean literacy and conservation through community-led events.

The festival features shoreline cleanups, workshops, musical performances, and interactive exhibits designed to inspire people to protect our “ocean playground.”

The festival is timed to surround World Ocean Day (June 8). 2026 Key Dates:
– Ocean Week Halifax Festival: May 30 – June 8, 2026
– Flagship Ocean Celebration: June 7, 2026

The Ocean Celebration on June 7 is the week’s centerpiece. Held on the Halifax Waterfront, it’s a free, family-friendly event where you can explore the “Ocean, Freshwater, and Us” giant floor map and engage with various local ocean partner organizations.
