Tallie Lin- Youth Advisory Council Member 2025-2026

About This Event

Tallie Lin(she/her) is representing Taiwan as part of the World Ocean Day Youth Council. This year, she is 16. She grew up in Hong Kong and was first introduced to ocean conservation through a beach clean-up run by her school. Plastic and fabric scraps were littered everywhere. Through this, she discovered the environmental impact of textile waste and plastic, and wanted to take some action. She started with small things, like asking her family to use the air conditioner.

She took action by becoming a The Alliance for Sustainable Schools ambassador at her school, by promoting and running the second-hand uniform sale. She advocates in her school for sustainable practices.

She is working with her classmates at The Harbour School form St. Martins Apparel, a brand whose mission is to spread awareness about environmental issues. St. Martins Apparel sells bags made out of textile waste, keeping it out of the ocean, and promoting environmental awareness in colorful designs.
