8 June is just one month away!

Looking for a way to celebrate and take action for our one shared ocean in June – read on!

World Ocean Day, on 8 June, is a special day to commemorate and honor our ocean – while also taking collective action on behalf of our blue planet!

But, these celebrations and efforts happen throughout the year; Millions of people around the world are working as individuals or with organizations, schools, businesses, and their communities to take action to protect and restore our ocean.

Whether you’re celebrating on 8 June, throughout June, or any time of year, share what you are doing with the world by listing your events at WorldOceanDay.org (more details below!) and tagging us on social media so we can amplify your efforts.

Find an event near you:

Check out the World Ocean Day Events Calendar and World Map to search for an event in your community that you can join. If you don’t see one – check back soon! Events are being added every day as we approach 8 June.

Incorporate action into your World Ocean Day plans!

As a reminder, this year and for the third year, the World Ocean Day Conservation Action Focus is to support the growing momentum for a global commitment to “30×30”: Protect at least 30% of our lands, waters, and ocean by 2030 to create a healthy ocean with abundant wildlife and help stabilize the climate.

Sign this year’s 30×30 petition and share it with anyone you know who supports protecting our blue planet!

We support any type of involvement around World Ocean Day, and strongly encourage integrating the 30×30 action and youth engagement whenever possible.

However you are celebrating and honoring our ocean now, in June, and throughout the year – thank you and know that World Ocean Day is here to support your efforts!
