The Wildlife and Human Resources Organisation (WHRO Ghana), is organizing beach cleanup at two main locations; Abia fish landing beach in Ningo-Prampram and Ocean Drive, Tuga Avenue, also in Ningo-Prampram to celebrate World Ocean Day on June 8, 2024. These events will help improve sea turtle nesting by cleaning nesting hot-spots in the country. The Abia beach is also a landing site for the local fishermen and this event will help improve sanitation and hygiene of fish landed in the area. Additionally, the cleanup exercise will improve tourism and provide economic benefits as the beach is a tourists site for national and international visitors.
