Unite for Literacy pictures a world where all children have access to an abundance of books that celebrate their languages and cultures and cultivate a lifelong love of reading. Check out their Global Ocean and Aquatic Library for two dozen books related to our ocean and its marine life! The library offers multilingual audio narration and beautiful visuals, making the educational reading experience accessible for young kids all around the world. World Ocean Day for Schools is a celebratory event for educators, parents and students. This year’s theme: ‘Our Blue’ will help students understand and feel their connection to the ocean through their nearest blue space — whether that’s a beach, river, canal, stream or lake. Participants can follow along with a curated day of live lessons or choose from a mix of pre-recorded video and offline session plans to create your own schedule. All resources are available for free via worldoceanday.school and on the WorldOceanDay.org website for use on 8 June and any day throughout the year. The best bit? The Octonauts: Beloved Octonauts characters and creatures are celebrating World Ocean Day again this year! Download printable posters, social media graphics, coloring pages and collectible creature cards featuring to celebrate World Ocean Day here. Make sure to check out the Octonauts spinoff series – Above & Beyond! The same underwater adventurers from the Octonauts who work to explore and protect our ocean and its wildlife have expanded their expeditions onto land! Fraggle Rock: Jim Henson’s fun-loving, musical Fraggles are back and they’re teaming up with World Ocean Day to spread the word about protecting our blue planet!
